Hello, my name is Kiasha Jones-Ross, and I am a Para-Professional III in the LINC department. I have been part of the LAFO family 8 going on 9 years. I am the proud parent of one Newly Freshman Collège son whose attending Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas majoring in Kineslogy. This is my second career, I retired from Verizon of 22 years Oct. 2010.
Teaching has Always been my passion and June 2014, I got the chance to do just that, and have been loving every minute of it. I can't wait to start this unique school year off, to see what wonders it has to offer.
My name is Halle Laws and I am a native of Fort Worth, Tx. I received my A.A.T. from Tarrant County College and is currently at Texas Wesleyan University finishing up my bachelors in EC-6th ESL. I am a mom of three and engaged to my best friend of 5 years. I am an alumnus of FWISD (I BE A WILDCAT!WHO BE YOU?), but this is my first year at LAFO. I am so excited to be kicking off my teaching career here with you all. I look forward to learning and making memories with you all this school year
Hello my name is Dr. Sherry Starr Bester and I have the honor and the distinct pleasure of teaching the RISE Unit here at LAFO. I’ve been blessed to work here for the past 16 years. My educational background is that I have an Associate Degree, a Bachelor of Science Degree, Masters Degree in Special Education and a Doctoral Degree in Educational with a specialize in Special Education. I’ve been married for the past 15 years to Mr. Bester. I grew in East Texas where I am one of five children. Teaching young people is a passion in which I take great pride in along with the fact that I understand the full scope of the educational processes. My philosophy is that it’s my job to see that every child meets his/her full potential
Hi, I am Mrs. Hobbs and this is my first year at LAFO as a Para – Professional. I previously worked at the Fort Worth Police Department for 2 years as a 911 Public Safety Communicator. I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington and currently live in Fort Worth. I’m a mother of a wonderful 5-year-old son that attends W.M Green and I have been married for 8 years.
I am excited about joining the team and making every moment count. This year will be a learning experience and I am ready to make the best of it.
My name is Kathey Smith-Branch and I'm a Special Education teacher. I have over 20 years of experience teaching in general education and special education. My journey in the field of education began as a Head Start teacher. I have taught students from early childhood to adulthood. I received an Associate Degree from Tarrant County College in Child Development, Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Child Development from Texas Woman's University. Learning and teaching have always been a passion of mine. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share that passion in Fort Worth Independent School District
Hi, my name is Corina Villegas! I am very happy and excited to be a part of the LAFO family! This is my first year at LAFO. I will be finishing up my A.A.T. degree from Tarrant County College this Fall and will be attending Texas Tech for my Bachelors in Multidisciplinary Studies in the summer. I have a wonderful son who is one year old. He is my motivation to keep on going and one of the many reasons I decided to become an educator.
