Hi, I am Ms. Woods. I will be entering my 7th year of teaching Moving to Wellness (PE/Health) in Fort Worth ISD. I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health & Human Performance from Prairie View A&M University. I began my teaching career at Glencrest 6th grade for 6 years and looking forward to continuing on a new journey with the LAFO 6th lions family In my spare time, I enjoy vacationing, attending concerts (I love music) attending sporting events, online shopping and spending time with my family.
Mr. Madrid is a contemporary painter and educator who lives and works in Fort Worth, TX. Mr. Madrid has sought to make the arts more equitable as an educator and mentor in the classroom. In 2018, he co-founded an arts education nonprofit called Art Room with the belief that the opportunity to participate in the arts should be made accessible to all.
Hey! My name is Coach Clark. I am entering into my 4th year of teaching. This will be my first year in Fort Worth ISD. I will be teaching Moving to Wellness (PE/Health). I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science from Texas State University. I also received my Master’s of Science degree in Exercise Science from Texas State University as well. My certifications are in Physical Education (EC -12) and Health (EC-12). I am originally from Flint, Michigan. My hobbies include playing basketball, working out, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with my family. My wife and I have a 1 year old son. My wife also works for Fort Worth ISD as a K-12 Science Coordinator. I am looking forward to my new journey at LAFO 6th grade campus.
Leedonna Haynes is the dance teacher for LAFO. For 11 years, she has trained and taught dancers of all levels in ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and more. She has taught at various dance studios and coached competitive dancers. Leedonna received a BA in Dance and a minor in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas. Leedonna has a passion for dance and has been dancing since the age of 4. She has danced competitively and with regional professional dance companies. She is also an AFAA certified fitness instructor and NASM personal trainer. Above all, Leedonna believes that dance should be fun and accessible to all.
Michael Moreno is entering his first year as the band director at LAFO 6th Grade. His responsibilities include teaching beginner classes, and assisting Mr. Nguyen with the bands at LAFO MS. Mr. Moreno is a native of El Paso, Texas. He attended Texas Christian University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, studying trumpet under Dr. Jon Burgess. He has performed as principal trumpet for the TCU Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, performed as lead trumpet for the TCU Jazz Ensemble I, was a member of the Horned Frog Marching Band, and served as President of the International Trumpet Guild TCU Chapter. He is also a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. Mr. Moreno is currently working toward his Master's degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to beginning his career as a band director, Mr. Moreno was a private trumpet instructor in the DFW area, teaching middle school and high school students in Crowley ISD, Arlington ISD, and Duncanville ISD. He continues to perform professionally as a member of the Texas State Guard Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Moreno’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
Mrs. Walker-Burston has been in education for over 20 years. She began her teaching career at Polytechnic High School in Business Education. Mrs. Walker-Burston has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology, a Master’s of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in Education Technology. Mrs. Walker-Burston is a Fort Worth native and lives in the Leadership Academy at Forest Oak Middle School community. She is excited about sharing her years of experience and love for Technology Education with the students at LAFO 6.
My name is Ms. Taylor. I am one of the art teachers at the 6th Grade campus.This is my 3rd year teaching middle school. First year teaching 6th grade, and I am so excited! Art has been my passion since I was in high School. Something I enjoy more than art, is teaching new art forms to my students. I was born and raised in Oxnard, Ca. I graduated college at Grambling State University in Grambling, La with my bachelors in Visual Arts. When I’m not creating art or being a teacher, I'm traveling and exploring with my nine-year-old Son. We love seeing new places!
Hello, my name is Carlos Morales, I am the PE and Health teacher here at the 6th-grade center. I grew up here in Fort Worth and graduated from Carter Riverside High School. After high school, I attended the University of Texas at Arlington where I received my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. During my time studying for my degree, I worked for a nonprofit after school program here in Fort Worth called Clayton Youth Enrichment. During this time, I worked at several different schools in FWISD and this is where my passion for working with students began. I am super excited to be here and look forward to meeting everybody!
Petty Officer Valton Triche really believes that teamwork makes the dream work. This is PO Triches’ first year at Leadership Academy Forest Oak Middle School and his 6th year teaching in the Fort Worth district. PO Triche favorite quote is “The Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” He Majored in Business Administration at Northwood University and started and continues to manage his own business. PO is looking forward to working with the students and staff to make LANFO and the Junior Cadet program one of the most successful.
