Changhua County is a major agricultural region, and Dacun Township, where our school is located, is predominantly inhabited by farming families. Due to the favorable climate and soil characteristics of Dacun, grapes have become an important local economic crop, making Dacun a renowned hometown of grapes in Taiwan. However, with the changing times, traditional agriculture faces challenges and urgently needs to explore new avenues for development and smart production.
This research project is driven by an educational purpose, focusing on grape cultivation and the waste and recycling of grapevines. It aims to explore agricultural management models that align with sustainable development goals (SDGs) and smart agriculture. The research topic, titled "The Beauty and Hardships of Kyoho Grape Farming," targets several traditional grape farms within the community, all of which are nationally renowned grape orchards or agricultural tourism and leisure farms. These farms have a significant influence on grape cultivation and production and hold considerable research value.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the support provided by Yayu Farm, Heijiang Grape Farm, Meixiang Farm, Taichung Agricultural Improvement Station, and the Daqiao Community, who assisted with multiple visits, guided tours, and hands-on activities. Their invaluable contributions have allowed the students in our village to learn knowledge that cannot be taught in the classroom. Their selfless dedication is truly admirable.
We would also like to thank our dedicated instructors: Director Jinfeng, Teacher Mujia, Teacher Hongwei, and Teacher Fenlan, for sacrificing their holidays to accompany us and assist with the production of this project. We dedicate the results of this research to them and extend our heartfelt thanks.
