2-1-1 The climate in Dacun is suitable for grape cultivation.
Climate has a great impact on the growth of Kyoho Grape, especially temperature and light. The optimal temperature range for the new shoots of grapes is 15-35°C, with 25°C being the best. In winter, nighttime temperatures should be maintained at 8-14°C to allow for successful germination, and temperatures during flowering should be between 17-20°C to increase fruiting rates. In central Taiwan, farmers use plastic sheeting to cover the grapevines and heat them so that the grapes can ripen earlier. Additionally, Kyoho Grapes need plenty of sunlight to help bud formation and increase sweetness. At high altitudes, the temperature difference between day and night, along with the right amount of fog, can make the grapes brighter in color and more intense in flavor.
