Pest and disease control is an important part of growing Kyoho Grapes. In the winter, farmers use Bordeaux liquid to clean up the vineyard and reduce the number of pathogens. Before flowering, a fungicide is used to prevent gray mold and brown blight on the rachis. When the fruits turn color, special protection against anthracnose and white rot is needed, and different fungicides can be used alternately to reduce the incidence of disease. In the 20 days before harvest, it is best to use biological agents, such as Bacillus subtilis, to reduce pesticide residues. As for pests, leafhoppers can easily affect the growth of new shoots and can be caught by using yellow colored sticky boards. Fruit flies need to be prevented when the fruits are ripening, and farmers usually use ovitraps or netting to minimize the impact of fruit flies. Through these integrated management methods, farmers can effectively control pests and diseases and improve the quality and yield of grapes.
