Alternate Mouse Access

If a student cannot access the touchscreen, a mouse or alternate mouse can be connected to the iPad. The connection can be wireless (i.e. bluetooth) or can be a wired connection (i.e. using a Lightning to USB 3 Camera adapter). There are mouse settings built into iOS that can be adjusted to make it easier for students to use the iPad. If you have a student that you feel would benefit from alternate mouse access contact Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Services to request an assessment.

Mouse

There are different types of adapted mice such as a smaller, single button mouse. An adapted mouse can make it easier for some students to use the iPad.

Trackball

A trackball can be connected to the iPad for students who have difficulty using a mouse.

Joystick

Joysticks that provide mouse access can also be connected to the iPad and can provide access for students have difficulty using a mouse.
