Spoken Content

(Text-to-Speech)

The iPad can speak selected text or speak the entire screen when spoken content is turned on. When reading the entire screen, highlighting can be set to words, sentences or both as the text is spoken. Students can also hear speech feedback for letters and/or words as they type on the iOS keyboard (or Keedogo) and tap to hear words in the word prediction.

It can help students who may require support with:

  • Emerging literacy skills

  • Reading text due to vision impairment

  • Controlling their eyes to read text due to physical disability

  • Accessing text/content if unable to read independently

  • Learning to type or write
