Guided Access

Guided Access helps focus students on a task by limiting students to one specific app, time in a specific app and use of some iPad features (e.g., temporarily stops volume, sleep/wake buttons from working).

Tips: If you use a passcode, be sure to write it down. To exit Guided Access triple click the home button and enter the passcode that you have created. Supervise use of the iPad carefully after guided access is turned on for the first time since some students who view the iPad as a leisure activity may become extremely frustrated when Guided Access is used.

It can help students who may require support with:

  • Maintaining focus

  • Chunking tasks

  • Time management skills

  • Frustration tolerance
