With Audio Descriptions, students in the TDSB can:
have a choice in how they learn. Students can listen to videos if they are auditory learners or prefer to hear information.
compare videos with and without descriptions. Play a video clip once without audio descriptions and once with them. Then discuss what new details were noticed or understood better.
increase understanding while watching educational videos in Science or Geography class. Audio Descriptions will describe what is happening on the screen so important details are not missed.
focus on important information. The extra spoken details help students stay focused and understand what’s happening in a video.
use Audio Descriptions to follow along with a video. This helps students participate in discussions, even if they have trouble seeing small details on the screen.
