Face Control is a new feature on the Chromebook that uses the camera and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to allow students to control the Chromebook using their facial gestures and head movements.
Face Control can be personalized using specific gestures that work for the student. To use Face Control, the Chromebook must have access to the device's webcam and the internet.
To use the Chromebook hands-free, this feature works well with:
Dictation
Automatic Clicks
Sticky Keys
On-Screen Keyboard
Once turned on, students can change the speed of the cursor, create custom "Action Settings", and even change the sensitivity of the settings.
Face Control can support students to:
control the Chromebook in a way that works best for them
gain independence
use the Chromebook comfortably, even for long periods of time
interact with the Chromebook hands-free
use the Chromebook without fine motor challenges
