Picnic Tables

Site selection: Select your table site taking into consideration the following

Choose an area with hard, level ground (e.g. asphalt)
Look for areas that provide shade
Avoid playing fields where possible
Avoid high traffic areas (e.g. entry and dismissal areas)
Avoid maintenance vehicle or emergency access routes
Avoid placing close to low building walls (where tables could be used to access roofs)

Placing and Securing tables:
Picnic tables should be placed either butting up against one another or with a minimum 2 metre distance between tables (to discourage jumping between and possible injury)

Tables should be chained (where possible) to a post or another picnic table
Tables should never be chained to trees or school perimeter fences
Coordinate with your caretaker to order chains and locks through TDSB approved vendors
