Requesting a transcript for University applications

As adult students applying to university  students are required to send their transcripts to each university they are applying to after each quad. 

BEFORE you make your request, please find the following information for each university where you are submitting an application.


If you want an official transcript (signed, embossed and sealed) you will need to come to the school with photo ID to get it in a sealed envelope and you mail it yourself.

Please COPY AND PASTE the following FOR EACH SCHOOL into an email and send your request to cityadultstudentservices@tdsb.on.ca

Requesting a transcript for all other purposes

All students studying in Toronto have an Ontario Student Transcript (OST). Transcripts are records of student achievement and are required for post-secondary institutions, employers and for a number of other purposes. All school boards in Ontario are mandated to maintain the Ontario Student Record (OSR) folder including a copy of the Ontario Student Transcript (OST) for 55 years after the student is demitted. Transcripts are available to all former students on request and for a fee.

Fee Information (as of September 1, 2015)

The fee for a copy of your transcript is $24.00 and $5.00 for each additional copy (Canadian funds only). Accepted payment options include a VISA or MasterCard ONLY.

US residents may also pay by VISA or MasterCard.

Payment is due prior to receipt of transcript and the fee for the search of student information is non-refundable.

If applying to an Ontario college through ontariocolleges.ca, please request high school transcripts online as part of the application process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can transcript requests be made through the mail?

No. Complete a Request for Transcript Form, email to transcript@tdsb.on.ca or fax including a copy of your government issued signed photo ID, with VISA or MASTERCARD as the acceptable method of payment.

What is required when ordering a transcript and picking-up a transcript?

With the closure of the schools/administration offices, you cannot pick-up a transcript.

What is required for third party requests i.e. employment agencies and legal firms?

For former students, send requests to transcript@tdsb.on.ca ensure you include the documentation you need completed, the payment, and authorization to release personal information signed by your client. For current student you must send the request directly to your client’s last day school.

How long does a transcript request take to process?

Transcript requests normally take approximately two (2) weeks to process, due to COVID-19 you may experience a delay. The transcript office does not provide same-day service.

What are the office hours for the Central Transcript Office and where is it located?

Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays, March Break, the second Thursday in July and Winter Break). The administration building is closed so we are not open to public access.
