Accelerated OYAP

Accelerated OYAP is an intensive one-semester (2 quad) program that combines a co-op placement with an 8-week block of Level 1 training at a College or Union training centre. An Accelerated OYAP student becomes a Registered Apprentice with the Ministry of Labour, Skills and Training Development (MTLSD).
Accelerated OYAP is only available in the second semester (Quad 3/4) of each year, beginning in February. 2025/2026.
Adult Students 21+ who have already earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) can NOT apply.
(If you have applied for PLAR please let your counsellor know you are interested in the Accelerated OYAP program)
To participate in the Accelerated OYAP program at CALC, you must be a registered student and either be enrolled in or have completed a minimum of grade 10 English. You may also need to apply for PLAR and take the GLS4O1 course.

Important Dates:
1. Attend the Information Session Wed. Oct. 8 and the Accelerated OYAP Virtual Info Night on Oct. 15, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
2. Submit your Application:
Applications Open: Fri Oct 10th at 1:00PM
Applications Close: Fri Oct 31st .

Step 1: Please review the Accelerated OYAP Slide Show.
Step 2. Click on the Accelerated OYAP application link and complete the form which is located towards the end of the slide show, starting Fri. Oct. 10
Internal Deadline: (Current Students must apply to Guidance by Fri. Oct. 31). A guidance counsellor will review your academic readiness and IF you qualify will notify you and put your name forward-see step 3).
Step 3: Absolute Deadline: TBD (CALC Guidance must have reviewed your application and put your name forward to the OYAP team by Nov. 7).
Note: completing an online Application does not guarantee enrollment.
***OSSD graduates are NOT eligible to apply. You should be close to graduating (in at least ENG3C/3U).
