Every year, the Ontario Library Association releases lists of 10 nominees in various age categories. What makes this award special is that the winners are chosen by students across Ontario, Canada, and even the world! The program culminates in the Festival of Trees which is essentially a giant party celebrating Canadian authors, illustrators, readers, and literacy.
At Brock, we participate in Blue Spruce (K-3), Silver Birch Express (Grade 3- this is new for us), Silver Birch Fiction (Grades 4-6), and Red Maple Fiction (Grades 7-8) and the Festival of Trees at Harbourfront is the highlight of our year. Many student have also been on stage at the awards as presenters or sign carriers each year (we are very fortunate!). We are so excited to continue this amazing program this year!
