Hello Yerachim Families,
This week the children worked on their special collage project. As they glued their photographs, each kiddo narrated something special about their family and interests. They practiced their fine motor skills when squeezing the glue bottle and when carefully placing each photograph. I am sure you heard all about it at home. Thank you for your partnership in helping this project come to life! Take a look at our "Favorites" board when you come to the class to see all the kiddos' hard work.
This week we also introduced Rosh Hashanah. We started the conversation by talking about apples, their texture, and their color. Then, a few kiddos remembered all about eating apples with honey and we had a lovely, natural conversation about the holiday. We talked about the round challah, the Shofar and read "Apples and Honey."
Mavrick was the first Shabbat Star of the school year! We celebrated with prayers and songs in the Beit Midrash and challah and grape juice in the classroom.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Joy and Gaby

Birthday Celebrations:
To make your child's day special, we celebrate by coming together for a Birthday Circle. This entails singing Happy Birthday as a class and you can send in your child's favorite book to share with the class.
As Shabbat takes precedence, we will not celebrate birthdays on Fridays. Please email us (Teacher Gaby and Teacher Joy) to determine the appropriate treat (either one, food or nonfood) for your child’s special day. While we encourage nonfood items (ex. stickers, box of crayons, donate books to the classroom), if you feel so inclined to send a food item, this needs to be individually wrapped and nut/sesame free. We ask that you NOT cubby birthday party invitations or birthday party thank you notes.
