Weekly Update
9/26/2025
Hi Room 14/Dagim Families!
We had a fun short week in school learning about Yom Kippur and making our own Shofars!
Our Shabbat Star this week was Hayden Falkai!
We wanted to give you some language regarding how we told the children about Teacher Mindy leaving. During our morning circle time, Teacher Mindy told the children in very simple language that after next week, she would not be teaching in the classroom, but that Teacher Elizabeth is coming and is so excited to be here to play with them and teach them. Teacher Mindy said that she will miss them but will come visit. She explained to them that everything else will stay the same and that they will have the best year with Teacher Jessica and Teacher Elizabeth. She reassured them of how special they are and that she loves each one of them and their amazing families.
Elizabeth visited the classroom a few times this week and the children were excited to see her. Many remembered her from when she was a teacher on the nursery side and she knew everyone's names, which brought big smiles!
If your child ask questions, you can use this same language. Focus on the things that will be the same. Get curious about some new things that Teacher Elizabeth might do. Talk about pictures that the children can always make for Mindy anytime they want. The children have all navigated this without too many questions so far. We will be ready should those come up.
Have a wonderful weekend! Shabbat Shalom!
Warmly,
Jessica and Mindy

Birthday Celebrations:
To make your child's day special, each teacher will do a little something to make him/her feel special i.e, read a book, make a crown and/or a special leadership opportunity. As Shabbat takes precedence, we will not celebrate birthdays on Fridays. Please email your classroom teacher to determine the appropriate birthday plan and possible treat item (either one, food or nonfood) for your child’s special day. While we encourage nonfood items (ex. stickers, box of crayons, donate books to the classroom), if you feel so inclined to send a food item, this needs to be individually wrapped. Be sure to ask your child’s teacher if anyone in the class has a food allergy. We ask that you NOT cubby birthday party invitations or birthday party thank you notes.
