Reflection #9
Natural Hazard Inquiry
Reflect on how you went during your inquiry. What did you learn?
Are we prepared enough to handle your natural hazard and why?
Explain how you worked toward your goals and how it helped your learning. What worked? What didn’t? What will you do differently next time?
Write your reflection here...
My ninth Inquiry went very well. I think this was because Davide and I worked really well and we both tried very hard.
The Natural Hazard Inquiry was really useful as it taught me about how wildfires operate and I can also apply my learning to prepare and prevent fires in my own home.
I terms of preparation to deal with the Natural Hazard of wildfires I think this has helped me a lot to know what to do.
I think my solution was good because it showed that nobody can fully prevent a wildfire without the wildfire coming back bigger the next year. The best solution was to simply prepare more by cleaning up your house to remove flammable items.
One of my goals was to be generous by donating to the food bank. By working on this goal it helped me to improve my learning because it taught me that generosity pays off .
The goal I did the best with was interacting with my friends outside of school. The reason it went so well was because I had a means to talk to them (Discord) and we had games we could play together.
I was a bit frustrated with how one goal went because I haven't seen a huge improvement in my handwriting. It is slightly more readable but I would have liked a bit more improvement.
Next time I will put more time towards it. This will help me because I can improve my handwriting.
Evidence of Term 3 goals being met.
Copy and paste all relevant evidence in the form of screenshots or written explanations of what was done to achieve your 4 goals for Term 3.
e.g. Test results, teacher feedback, parent feedback, peer feedback, your own explantion of things you did etc.
I was generous because I donated 4 cans to the food bank, which was an improvement from last year.
My handwriting is slightly more readable now compared to when I first wrote this goal, but throughout the term I will still work on it.
I talked to Davide, Lewis, Cayden and Hayden on Discord about eight or nine times.
I attended the Inquiry open evening on the 20th of August. I was quite nervous but I think I did really well.
