Now I will state the obvious: wars suck, nobody likes them, and people die, affecting the world. So how could we lower the death count? Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to my report on war. Now I said lower not
So what was the first recorded war? Despite that seeming like a pointless question, we will also look at what caused it. The first recorded war was the Battle of Megiddo which happened in the 15th-century. The fight was between Egyptians under the control of Pharoh Thutmose III and a rebellious party of Canaanite vassal states led by the king of Kadash. The king was Thutmose III at the time of the war. The war happened because the coalition between the Canaanites of Megiddo and the Syrians of Kadash attracted others unsatisfied with the new Egyptian rule.
So how long do wars last? Well, let's look at the wars in the past one hundred years, specifically the first five. First, the Boer War lasted 3 years from 1899 to 1902, and about twenty-two thousand people died from that war. World War I lasted four years and almost sixty percent of those who fought died, about fifteen to twenty million died. Now the Russian Civil War which lasted for about 5 years, about ten million people died from the war. Now the Third Afghan War, this war is the shortest one on this list and it only lasted for about four months about 1,436 died in the war. Now the last war the Irish War of Independence which lasted for two years and about 1,427 died. After some maths I got that a average war lasts 2 years and 8 months. As you can tell wars that last longer tend to have more deathes.
Now we are going dig into the war leaders, you know the top three, the triple terror three. Now first we are gonna look at the man who was so great with power his nickname had great in it, Alexander the Great. Now you might be thinking, “Well what made Alexander Great?” Well, first he was the King of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon. Second, he was running a long military campaign throughout Western Asia and Egypt. Now there are no sources saying how many people he killed, but judging from his type of power you would have to say he claimed the lives of thousands or even a million! Now on to the world’s first trillionaire, the man who makes Elon Musk look like Elon Dust, who makes Bill Gates look like he has gates made of bills. Genghis Khan, the founder, and first Khagan, (which is someone who has the power as an emperor) of the Mongol Empire, which later became the largest contiguous land empire in history. The Mongol empire was mainly known for warfare but apparently celebrated for productive peace. Of course, starting an empire isn’t all he did, nope. He killed 40 million people and some studies say he killed 11% of the world's population. Now onto our last war leader Napoleon Bonaparte who was known for being a Corsican-born French military commander and political leader who rose to fame during the French Revolution. This man causedabout 2.5 million to 3.5 million deaths.
Now how have wars changed over the years? Now technology has had a big impact, especially during the past 3 years, not only with work and school but also war. For example, we started with stones and sticks and now we have moved on to drivable missiles and flyable bombs to literally weapons that can end the world. Well wars have changed too, we started with stones and sticks to machine guns which shoot 1 hundred bullets every ten seconds, radars, atomic bombs, tanks aircraft you name it! War machines only get stronger.
How many and what types of wars are there? Well there are sixteen types of wars and each one is well as devastating as the last. First lets start with a civil war, this is when two groups in the same country fight each other in the country. The next type is a proxy war, which happens when two powerful countries fight each other indirectly by funding or arming opposing sides in a third country. Now the final and last one, total war, happens when any and all civilian-associated resources and infrastructure as legitimate military targets, mobilize all of the resources of society to fight the war.
So we covered what types of war are there, who were the definition of war but what we have not covered is the cause of war. Well, let us think of some pretty reasonable causes. One could be that land taken from you or maybe you want power, see pretty reasonable right? Well, there are a whole bunch more like racism, slavery, economic, religious, or political reasons. Let's look a the biggest war in history, World War 2. This was caused by the nazi invasion of Poland which then dragged on for six years until the United Nations defeated the Axis of powers of Nazi Germany, Japan, and Italy in 1945.
Now on to our final question, what are the effects after the war? Well first we have PTSD which stands for Post-traumatic stress disorder which is when you experience isolation, anger, and guilt. You also experience insomnia due to nightmares of the war. Not only that but the environment the war takes place in gets destroyed. Like, look at this. It leaves the place in shambles and this is the effect. Not only that but people experience injury, illness, disabilty, malnutrition, sexual violene, and even death!
So taking all of this information in how do people die in war? Well, most would say bullets because that makes sense right? Well, that's not all, soldiers can die from wounds made by bullets and some die from illnesses or accidents, they even die from starvation. So how can we lower the number of deaths from war? Well we know that starvation is one of them so we could pack more food but what about deaths? Well this PMI shows that if we make robots to serve in the army then the death rates would drop dramatically.
So in conclusion, if we replace humans with robots then death rates would drop drastically and we can’t fully prevent war so let's at least try to keep the death rate down thank you for reading and have a good one alright? Bye.
