Fast Food Report
Introduction
Fast Food is a type of food that is addicting and that can be a problem especially to human health and money. Fast food has been around since 1921 which was marked last year, so after gathering information about this I have found a solution to solve this problem.
Research Question 1
The first fast food restaurant was opened during 1921, it opened in Wichita, Kansas. White Castle was the name and it gained popularity overtime and was found by Billy Ingram and Walter Anderson. Billy and Walter were born in 1880 and Walter died in 1963 and Billy died 3 years later.
Research Question 2
Fast food companies are often competinting for you to consume their products since it benefits them. According to some websites Mcdonalds rains supreme making a whooping $40 billion per year which is almost double of starbucks which is $21 billion.
Research Question 3
When it comes to a type of food that is addicting, pizza takes the win since you can add any toppings and not only that it tastes amazing! The second most popular type of food is chocolate which tastes amazing but not only that but has a few health benefits like improving brain function, improving your immune system and if you eat dark chocolate lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of blood clots, increase blood circulation to the heart and lower the chances of a stroke! Not only that when we like a particular type of food it activates the reward system in our brain making us feel good. I did a survey in my class to see what they thought and sushi and pizza were on top.
Research Question 4
When you wait for fast food, the most amount of time you wait is like 5 minutes and that is pretty quick, ever wonder why? Well they have the food made in a factory somewhere else. Also I found a random fact that I found is that fast food is meant to be eaten fast.
Research Question 5
Making fast food healthy is easy since vegetables are fresh when bought and they are great for our body, only downside is they aren’t the tastiest things around and little children are picky about vegetables. But do not worry because there are some ways to eat well without the loss of that sweet taste. Option 1 is asking for no toppings since none of those little pieces of food could go a long way. Option 2 ask for a salad since most fast food restaurants serve salads. Option 3 make it at home.
Research Question 6
If you like places like subway you are in luck since they are doing things to replace your favorite food with healthier options like Subways sandwiches or healthy. In America fast food chains are kinda losing popularity and healthy food companies are taking over, and this is probably happening because fast food companies are known for junk food not healthy food. To make matters worse, since covid hit, people took up cooking.
Conclusion
Fast food is addictive because it makes people feel good and tastes amazing. Not only that but combine it with the fact that it is prepared quickly. So this is why fast food is really popular to people, but if we try cooking homemade fast food or order less things then we could solve it.
