How were african people treated as slaves?
During 1619, a Portuguese slave ship, the São João Bautista, traveled across the Atlantic Ocean with a hull filled with human cargo: captive Africans from Angola, in Africa. The men, women and children, most likely from the kingdoms of Ndongo and Kongo, endured the horrific journey, bound for a life of enslavement in Mexico. Almost half the captives had died by the time the ship was seized by two English pirate ships. Despite common factors, however, the circumstances of enslavement were different for black women and black men. The first slaves to be brought to the British colonies of North America were disproportionately male. The punishments took many forms, including whippings, torture, mutilation, imprisonment, and being sold away from the plantation. Slaves were even sometimes murdered. Some masters were more "benevolent" than others, and punished less often or severely.
What’s it like in racism?
It’s not very nice and you don’t really know when it's happening and pacific people are called coconuts. Never attended protests. Have witnessed racism. Older white guy pushed him and the expert told older pacific guys and they taught him a lesson. Really scared and when they taught him a lesson he felt a sense of relief and safety. When he witnesses it he feels sad and a bit angry. On the rugby field he got called the N word and got mad. So he rushed him and they fought and the game had to end early. The result was he apologized and the expert was a bit disappointed because he lost his cool.
