Our Year 9 Integrated Learning Survival Programme has focused on building practical outdoor skills and teamwork. We have done fire lighting, learning about how to have the best success when lighting fires. We got offsite to learn Archery skills and have some fun. Students became quite proficient with the bow. Students have also designed and crafted survival tools that would be useful if students head into the outdoors. Other activities have included knot tying, knife skills and researching survival scenarios. These hands-on activities encourage problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration, all while teaching respect for the environment through Leave No Trace principles. The programme equips students with essential skills and builds confidence for challenges in nature and beyond.Â
