This years challenge, the students have had the opportunity to take an idea "The Automaton" a mechanised toy.
This years challenge, the students have had the opportunity to take an idea "The Automaton" a mechanised toy.
They were given a brief, the task to research about them, then design and build their own prototype.

This also required them to trial and test using either cams, gears, leaver or the like, to see how they worked.

To produce a functioning final product that can be used to entertain and show just how simple mechanisms can be fun but challenging and can finally lead to robotics and AI.
