Civics will not be in the table yet. No scores will be returned for Civics until August (fall, spring and summer results.)

Fall and spring scores will count in the SPS and DPS.
Which students will have to take the Civics and/or U.S. History assessments?
There are two reasons why students must take the LEAP 2025 assessment for a course.
Bulletin 741 requires that all students must take the LEAP 2025 for all assessment-eligible courses (English I, English II, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, Civics, U.S. History.) School systems must select the weight for the final course as 15-30%. Entry date into high school and graduation requirements have no relevance to this requirement.
Bulletin 741 requires that all students take and pass 1 course in each of three subject pairs.
For students entering high school before 2024-2025, students must pass: English I or English II; Algebra I or Geometry; Biology or U.S. History
For students entering high school during or after 2024-2025, students must pass: English I or English II; Algebra I or Geometry; Biology or Civics
All initial tests, regardless of reason for the assessment, are included in the SPS.
Scores for all Civics administrations will not be available until summer 2025. They will be used in the 2025 SPS.
Class size: 4-12 no more than 33 students. (LEAP 2025 TA Manual p. 15)
Test sessions that are completed, locked but not submitted in LEAP 2025 high school do need to be unlocked for submittal. Test sessions that are not submitted will cause a delay in scoring until early summer. (A&A Office Hours FAQ 4.30.24)

Which assessments must be taken by middle school students who are enrolled in a high school course?
Most middle school students must take both the LEAP grade appropriate subject assessment and the LEAP 2025 high school subject assessment. There is only one exception: students who are in grade 8 and are enrolled in Algebra I have two options:
Students can choose to take both the LEAP grade 8 mathematics assessment and the Algebra I LEAP 2025 assessment. If both tests are taken, the LEAP grade 8 scores will be used in accountability and the Algebra I assessment will be banked.
Students can choose to take just the Algebra I LEAP 2025 assessment. If this is the only mathematics test that a middle school student takes, the score will be used for accountability regardless of the score earned. (HS Asses FAQ p. 3)
All students enrolled for credit in any of the specified courses—regardless of their enrolled grade—are required to take the appropriate high school summative test upon completing the course. Students who participate in LEAP Connect are still required to take the appropriate high school summative test when they earn a credit for the course. (LEAP 2025 HS STC Manual p.1)
Must all students take Algebra I and English I by their third year of high school?
All high school students must participate in at least one high school level ELA and one high school level mathematics assessment to meet federal assessment participation requirements. In Louisiana, students must have taken English I or II and Algebra I or Geometry by their third year of high school. The only students who are exempt from this requirement are:
Students who have earned the English I and/or Algebra I high school credit in an out-of- state school, nonpublic school or BESE-approved home study school
Students who take the LEAP Connect ELA and mathematics assessments by their third year of high school
Students who have an exemption from ELA and/or math based on the Covid-19 exemption (see # 6) (HS Asses FAQ p. 3)
Administrative Errors. Administrative errors that raise questions regarding the security of a test or the accuracy of the test data may result in the test being invalidated. Examples of administrative error include allowing students more than the allowable session time to complete a LEAP 2025 HS test or not administering accommodations correctly. When administrative errors occur, a test ticket must be invalidated by the district test coordinator, and the LDOE must be notified by submitting a testing irregularity form. The school system will be charged $350 for each retest due to administrative error. (Leap 2025 HS TA Manual p. iii)

If students do not pass one or more of the required assessments for graduation, is there a waiver process?
There is no waiver or exemption in place for assessment requirements. The BESE policy was ended by Governor Landry by executive order.
Please note that the Louisiana Department of Education and BESE has no policy regarding whether or not students can participate in graduation ceremonies when students do not meet all requirements for a high school diploma. Parents should be provided with local policy related to graduation activities participation.
