There is no accountability code to excuse students from testing for parental opt-outs. There is no formal process for opting students out, but the LDOE recommends that parents be required to submit a refusal of permission to test their child in writing to the principal in advance of the testing window. Schools cannot refuse to allow students to attend school on testing days, and should provide instructional activities for students.
Schools without Classroom Chromebook Carts
Your loaner cart should have 30 Chromebooks, and 6 iPads.
In the morning of testing checkout enough loaner Chromebooks to the STC or teacher testing the homeschool students.
Allow students to test on these chromebooks (there is no "login" required for the lockdown browser).
When students are finished testing for the day, check these chromebooks back in.
These chromebooks do not leave the school campus.
For schools with Classroom Chromebook carts.
Homeschool students can use a Chromebook from a classroom cart.
Small group testers can use a Chromebook from a classroom cart.
That Chromebook will need to be returned to the Chromebook cart by the end of the day each day.
This checklist is designed with ease and quickness in mind. Simply choose a day each week to check your students’ Chromebooks. Then begin clicking the check boxes. Each column is worth 1 point with the exception of the “Charged” column. It is worth 2 points. We want the students to get in the habit of charging their devices the night before, so that is why this column is worth more. The Checklist will automatically add up the number of points the student earned for that Chromebook Check. You can find the points in the Points column. These are your PBIS points you will give to the students.
