Our Soto Zen Buddhism tradition is well known for its beautiful and spectacular blessing ceremonies. The Blessing Ceremony called “Kito” or “Gokito” is one of the most dramatic of them all. Learn how to do perform a "Kito" service using the various Buddhist implements and instruments such as the Rishubun, Daihannya Tendoku, bell, and Taiko. Learn also about Omamori and Ofuda—the spiritual charms, talismans and amulets in the Japanese religious tradition that possess the power to ward off misfortune and procure good luck. NOTE: This workshop is for individuals who have received a minimum Shukke Tokudo ordination.
