Orchestra

Year Credit 1 Grade Level: 9-12     

This course fulfills the Fine Arts graduation requirement

Prerequisite: A minimum of one year of orchestra experience or permission of the orchestra director

Concert Orchestra consists mostly of underclassman players. The curriculum emphasizes basic/intermediate fundamentals of orchestra performance to develop individual musical skills and the application of those skills to concert literature. Concert Orchestra performs music consistent with the experience and skill levels of the members.

Academy Orchestra consists of mostly upperclassmen and experienced players. The curriculum emphasizes on developing more advanced techniques of performance and application to concert literature.

Chamber Orchestra consists of our most advanced and independent musicians. The curriculum emphasizes advanced techniques of performance and application to concert literature. This ensemble performs music of the most advanced quality and difficulty. Private lessons are strongly encouraged for participants.
