The Concert Band will consist of mostly underclassmen and less experienced players. Basic musicianship and fundamental skills will be the focus of this class. Attendance is required at all scheduled performances.

The Symphonic Band will consist of mostly upperclassmen and experienced players. The emphasis will be on developing more advanced techniques of performance and the literature covered will be of a higher level. Attendance is required at all scheduled performances.

Prerequisite: Acceptance is based on the tryout

The band auxiliary consists of flag corps and majorettes. Tryouts are held in the spring of each year. Students who play an instrument have the option to be in the auxiliary during marching band season, but then play their instrument in one of the three concert bands. Attendance at scheduled performances is mandatory.

This course fulfills the Fine Arts graduation requirement

Prerequisite: Enrollment in HS Band or by permission of director.

The Jazz Band is a music group organized to study and perform the different styles of jazz music, such as big band dance music, pop and rock, ballads and the blues. A basic understanding of improvisational techniques is also provided. There is opportunity for limited performance through the school year. Attendance at performances is required.
