Pitch Competition events at SXSW consist of entrepreneurs pitching their product or service to a set of judges, competing to win investment capital.
Competitions are generally two-day events and are divided into multiple product/service categories with one hour of dedicated time per category. You may be assigned to cover one or more categories.
It is important to have a good visual record of everyone who participates, as some products pitched can go on to become part of everyone’s daily lives and innovate industries!
Arrive early to the room and check in with a SXSW staff member (yellow STAFF lanyard) or the point person listed in your assignment. They should be able to help with questions about the format and pace of the event.
