Below you will find links, tutorials, and tools that will help teachers deliver online instruction and learning remotely. Learning new technology often times can be overwhelming, so hopefully, this along with the rest of this site will provide teachers with a way of easing into these new learning tools. Note: I have alphabetized the list of subject titles for your convenience. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Coding Platforms
Free online coding lessons to deliver to students. Activities include block coding, gamified coding, and writing code. Click the logo above to get started or click HERE for their learn at home link during COVID-19.
CodeHS is making their Pro version free to teachers now through June 30th for schools to continue to provide computer science and coding curriculum to their students. Check out the sign-up and the virtual learning links below:
Design Platforms
Tinkercad is a simple, online 3D design and 3D printing site free for everyone. Easily learn how to use Tinkercad through its built in lessons and tutorials. Create your own design and download the file for printing! TUTORIAL
Adobe Spark is a free online and mobile graphic design app. Easily create beautiful images, videos, and web pages that help tell your own story.
SketchUp is a great engineering and design tool. Chek out the links I've provided that discusses what they are offering for remote learning.
Game-Based / Assessment Platforms
Kahoot is an online interactive gaming/quizzing/polling system that is used on any web enabled device. Turn classroom learning into a competitive game by creating your own Kahoot or browsing ready-made lessons to use as your own. TUTORIAL
Quizizz is also an online interactive gaming system that is very similar to Kahoot. However, students on Quizizz can work at their own pace on their own device leaving the game more student driven rather than teacher driven. TUTORIAL
Math Platforms
Online Curriculum Platforms
Access free project-based curriculum from Google. Each project is equipped with multiple lessons complete with video content, direction, and assignments for students. Teachers can create a class and track student progress. TUTORIAL
Through this platform, there are 126 free career and skill-related courses that students could complete. Each comes complete with videos and work that for many can lead to a Google created certificate of completion. Many have multiple modules and up to 20 hours of online work. With Nearpod, teachers can upload existing materials to create online lessons or customize standards-aligned lessons for all K-12 subjects. These can be launched with any web-enabled device. Click the following link to request free access due to the Coronavirus: Nearpod Access
Formative Team makes it easy for teachers to collaborate and develope a rich online learning experience. Formative is donating access to all of their features for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year for teams who may be in need of virtual teaching due to COVID-19. Even when schools are closed, you can keep the learning going with these special cross-curricular journeys. Every day includes four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Kids can do them on their own, with their families, or with their teachers. Just find your grade level and let the learning begin!
CTE Online is packed full with tons of resources and lesson plans for Career Tech teachers. You can filter by the industry as well as core subject areas. You just need to create a free account to get access. In addition you can sign-up to receive notifications based on your content area for when others post questions, share resources, or add lessons/units. The site is funded by the California Department of Education.
Reading (across all contents), Writing, and Language
NewsELA publishes daily news articles at 5 reading levels from grades 3–12 to drive gains in literacy. Explore a library of high-quality, engaging nonfiction that you need to meet the new, rigorous demands of the Common Core. The link above will take you to their "free access" page they are offering during the Coronavirus outbreak.
ReadWorks Digital is a free site very similar to NEWSELA. It offers up relevant readings that can be searched by grade, topic, or Lexile. Each article is accompanied with a text-based question set to help with reading comprehension, and in addition, each article also comes with academic vocabulary support. Many of the articles have human voice recordings and step reads for differentiation, Finally, you can also search for paired texts that will offer articles on similar topics. TUTORIAL
Commonlit is a great resource for teachers to assign reading passages based on content, subject area, grade level, fiction and non-fiction and all are accompanied with varied questions. Commonlit has provided extra resources during this time of crisis to help teachers with their remote learning. This platform is very similar to Newsela and Readworks and provides awesome analytics and feedback on how your students are progressing. CommonLit Mini-Units: A Complete Solution to Support Virtual Learning
Book Creator is an easy way to make your own ebooks, right in your Chrome browser. Book Creator's award winning app is ideal for making all kinds of books, including children's picture books, photo books, comic books, journals, textbooks and much more. TUTORIAL
NoRedInk offers up grammar practice activities that teachers can assign directly to the student for mastery. Teachers can also assign "Quick Writes", guided essays, self-review, and peer review activities to help with student writing and voice. They have provided tons of free materials during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Video-Based Platforms
Google Meet is a live video conferencing platform where teachers can create a meeting and have students or other staff members join. Teachers could set up virtual office hours where students can join at any time to discuss the work they are completing or ask any questions to help them continue their learning journey.
A flipped classroom approach to using video for igniting student discussion and engagement. Create a topic or prompt that students respond to through video. This a great way for students to work on their voice and at the same time learn content. TUTORIAL
ScreenCastify is a great screen capturing tool that allows tutorials or lessons to be created by capturing your computer. This can then be shared via Google Drive or uploaded to YouTube.

With ED Puzzle, you can upload your own video or find an existing video, crop it, add your voice, and embed questions right in the video to create an interactive video experience for your students. TUTORIAL
Whiteboard and Collaborative Platforms
Jamboard is a digital whiteboard app built into the GSuite that lets teachers shar out their "board" with ideas and information to be accessed on any web-enabled device. Open a new tab, click the waffle in the upper right and scroll down to the Jamboard icon to start, or go to your Drive, click "new"=>"more"=>Google Jamboard.
this FREE whiteboard site that allows teachers to quickly create a class, send the class link out to students, and each can sign in and will all have their own whiteboard. You can see each student and their whiteboards as they join. This could be used in conjunction with Google Meet and students can write their answers on the boards as they are posted. Teachers have full control and can boot students who are not following the rules.
