Youth Conservation Poster & Essay Contests
Feral hogs are a major problem in Caldwell County due to their destructive rooting behavior, leading to soil erosion and damage to native vegetation. This invasive species contaminates water sources by wallowing in and defecating near streams and rivers, leading to increased bacteria levels including E. coli. Additionally, their activity disrupts agricultural lands and contributes to costly environmental and economic damage.
To support landowners in control of feral hogs, the Caldwell-Travis SWCD, in conjunction with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA), is pleased to offer a Feral Hog Trap Loan Program available on a first-come, first-served basis.
