Who We Are

SWCDs are local units of government established under state law to carry out natural resource management programs at the local level. Districts work with landowners in both rural and urban settings to carry out a program for the conservation, use, and development of soil, water, and related resources. Districts coordinate assistance from all available sources to address natural resource concerns.

Most districts’ boundaries coincide with county lines, however in the case of Caldwell-Travis SWCD the district's service area includes Caldwell county and the portion of Travis County south of the Colorado River. The history of the Caldwell-Travis SWCD dates back to 1940.

Your SWCD is LOCAL: a local office led by local directors with locally driven solutions to local natural resource concerns.
