The Inner-Workings of the Trump Administration

By Dottie Kervin

Within the past few years, an enigma has surrounded the news. On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was inaugurated into office. Alongside him entered Mike Pence, who is now the vice president of the United States.

Controversy has surrounded the vote which brought President Trump into office. In March, the President announced that there was no Russian interference in the election. Though, there are some who are still skeptical of the situation. Robert Mueller was assigned to oversee the justice department while they inquire about Russian interference. Recently, President Trump has tweeted his view about the situation on saying, “The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess,” and that “They have found no collusion and have gone absolutely nuts.” Some believe this was a sign that there may be some new findings surrounding the Russian case, though nothing is certain.

This November, CNN sued Donald Trump for suspending journalist Jim Acosta’s access into the White House. This was due to inquiries about the Russian investigation from the reporter. The news station stated that the suspension is disregarding the rights of Jim Acosta as well as CNN itself. While the White House Correspondents' Association said that it, "strongly supports CNN's goal of seeing their correspondent regain a US Secret Service security credential that the White House should not have taken away in the first place." CNN later stated that they would like for Jim Acosta to be able to come back to the White House as soon as possible and for a ruling from the court stating that Acosta’s pass will never be taken away again.
