El Día de Los Muertos

By Ivy Serres

The ground is covered in Flor de Muerto’s

Leads the pathway from the afterlife

El Pan de Muertos smells delightful

The candles made the night very lightful

Everyone is appearing

Families are cheering

Fireworks are everywhere

They give off a bright glare

The cemetery is howling with laughter

There is more fun to come after

Everyone goes home to get ready

Every place you travel to is friendly

The bands play its authentic music

Hear the gorgeous sound of the acoustic

Face paints and costumes cover the streets

Everyone enjoysloves the sweet treats

A parade full of costumes

Sparkling confetti and balloons

The confetti are like colorful drops of rain

Bright colors fill the lanes

There are so many traces of places

The people with painted faces

On El Dia de Los Muertos

No one is known to shed a tear

Unless it’s tears of joy

This is a happy day

A very special day
