This stage will assess if you are ready for your Instrument Checkride. It will cover all the concepts from stage 1 and take a deeper dive into weather (more specifically icing) and holds.

Stage 2 consists of the meat of instrument flying. You will be examined on your understanding of charts, approach and departure procedures, and holds. You will also fly your first NVG flight! The exam will include:

Stage 3 mostly contains advanced weather information, IFR emergencies, and IFR flight planning. You will also fly your final NVG flight. This is your EOC, setting you up to pass your instrument rating checkride. The exam will typically follow PTS standards for an instrument rating. However, it can encompass everything you have learned this semester. Passing this stage gets you registered for your Instrument Rating Checkride with a DPE.
