Firebirds Cricket Academy is proud to host three highly experienced and passionate coaches, each offering a unique approach to player development. Players have the opportunity to work with the coach that best suits their individual needs, goals, and style of learning.

Jacques Jooste, a two-time SVPS Sportsman of the Year, combines high-level playing experience with an energetic and relatable coaching style. His approach balances hard work with enjoyment, creating a positive space where players can express themselves while developing consistency, discipline, and a clear understanding of the game. Jacques’ ability to connect with young cricketers, alongside his strong mentorship qualities, makes him an excellent choice for players looking to grow both on and off the field.

Brian Dube brings over 28 years of coaching experience, including provincial age-group involvement and extensive work within Zimbabwe Cricket and private school environments. His structured, detail-oriented sessions focus on building strong technical foundations, improving game awareness, and developing mentally resilient players who can perform under pressure. Brian’s calm and disciplined approach is ideal for players seeking consistency and technical excellence.

Allen Magombedze, a Cricket South Africa Level 2 qualified coach, offers a modern and dynamic coaching style through his “Mindful Cricket” philosophy. With experience in premier league cricket, franchise structures, and as a national age-group head coach, Allen places strong emphasis on both technical development and mental strength. His engaging and progressive approach provides players with the tools to grow confidently and perform at their best.

Each coach brings their own strengths, experience, and personality to the programme, allowing players to choose the environment in which they feel most comfortable and inspired to develop.
