The Thanking Mass for University Janitors was held on November 27, 2024, at 4:00 PM in Silliman University Church. It was organized to honor and express gratitude to the janitors for their hard work and dedication. I participated as a working committee member, assisting in preparations and the giving of gifts.
This activity highlighted the importance of recognizing the contributions of the University Janitors had made to the cleanliness of the campus during this semester. Initially, I thought it would be any other formal event, but I was touched by the genuine gratitude and emotions shared by both the honorees and attendees. The speaker’s heartfelt speech left a deep impression, reminding me of the value of resilience and hard work. The most fulfilling part was seeing the joy and appreciation of the janitors.
This event reinforced my commitment to recognizing and appreciating others’ efforts. I plan to support similar initiatives in the future, advocating for inclusive acknowledgment. If I could revisit this, I would contribute by preparing a speech to further express gratitude.
Because of this activity, I am more grateful for the contributions of all individuals in our community.
