授與動詞，或稱雙賓動詞，用法語句型請參考授與動詞。使用授與動詞的句型，本身會有兩個不同概念的「動作接受者」。分別為「直接受詞(DO)」與「間接受詞(IO)」，故授與動詞的句型若要採用被動語態，便會有以「直接受詞」當主詞，或以「間接受詞」當主詞的兩種做法。

例如:
I was given a book by Professor Cook.
A book was given to me by Professor Cook.

句型1: 以原間接受詞為主詞

將間接受詞(人)作為被動語態的主詞時，原來的直接受詞(物)將放在Vpp之後。句子中個元素的位置改變狀況請參考下圖。

句型2: 以原直接受詞為主詞

將直接受詞(物)作為被動語態的主詞時，原來的間接受詞(人)將放在Vpp之後。句子中個元素的位置改變狀況請參考下圖。

請特別留意這個句型中，間接受詞(人)的前面需要有介系詞。即是使被動語態也是。主動時採用哪種介系詞，被動語態也採用同一個介系詞，介系詞要使用哪種請參照授與動詞的頁面說明。

1. 有授與動詞的被動語態，主詞為直接受詞 (物 )時，間接受詞 (人 )前面 須加上適當的介系詞。(請參考授與動詞)
   例句
   主動 Tom sent an email to Mr. Edison. = Tom sent Mr. Edison an email.
   --> 被動 An email was sent for Mr. Edison by Tom. (X)
   --> 被動 An email was sent to Mr. Edison by Tom. (O)

2. 被動語態中，主詞為間接受詞 (人 )時，直接受詞 (物 )前面不須介系詞。
   例句
   主動The university gave an award to Dr. Jones.
   --> 被動 Dr. Jones was given to an award by the university. (X)
   --> 被動 Dr. Jones was given an award by the university. (O)

3. 被動語態的動詞部分， be動詞的變化須配合時態與主詞人稱單複數。
   例句
   主動The waitress brought the menu to me.
   --> 被動 The menu is brought to me by the waitress. (X)
   --> 被動 The menu was brought to me by the waitress. (O)

4. 使用be動詞的被動語態的疑問句 (或否定句 )不可使用助動詞 「 do/does/did等 … 原形動詞 」，若要是將主動疑問句改成被動疑問句，請先將do /does /did刪除，再將 「 is/am/are/was/were」移至主詞前。
   例句
   主動 When did they send you the bill?
   --> 被動 When did the bill send to you? (X)
   --> 被動 When was the bill sent to you? (O)

5. 有一些過去分詞是不規則變化。
   例句
   主動 Robert teaches the children English every Friday.
   --> 被動 The children are teached English by Robert every Friday. (X)
   --> 被動 The children are taught English by Robert every Friday. (O)
