"Above the Gravel Pit" by Emily Carr
Dragons are mythological creatures that were said to have existed many, any years ago. They are known to have scales, wings, horns, and breathe fire. You are going to design a dragon's eye. Follow the steps below to get started. Remember to show detail, both in shapes and colour choices. Fill the page with your eye, and use your imagination!
Step 1: draw the shape of your dragon's eye.
Step 2: draw the dragon's eyelids.
Step 3: draw the scales around the dragon's eye. Remember to vary the size of the scales - some are small, and some are big. This will make your drawing more interesting.
Step 4: draw the dragon's eye. Make sure your dragon's eye has a pupil (the dark middle part of eye), and an iris (the coloured part of an eye). Design it any shape you wish.
Step 5: Darken in the outline of the scales with thick, black lines.
Step 6: Colour your dragon's eye and scales. Use various shades of colours to make it more realistic. If you choose to use pencil crayons, you can even layer colours on top of each other.
