If we were in school we would be listening to Peter and the Wolf at about this time. This is a wonderful story set to music written by Sergei Prokofiev. Each character has its own music represented by different instruments of the orchestra. Below are a number of different activities you can do that will let you listen to the story and share the different instruments of the orchestra. We will spend a few weeks on the instruments of the orchestra, so make sure you check back next week as well. Let Mrs. Rutz know who your favourite character is in the story and which instrument you like best. arutz@srsd119.ca

I found this by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra: a modern take on the story titled Penelope and the Wolf
On the Musicplayonline site you can listen to the story and hear the music. They also have the Disney video that I would show in class. There are also worksheets you can print out.
