It's rhythm week! Below are rhythm videos according to your grade that we have worked on in Music. It has been awhile, but see if you remember the rhythms we learned during Music class. Follow the teacher as she leads you through each rhythm card. She uses a few different saying than we do, so you can use hers or the ones you have learned with Mrs. Rutz. If you would like a challenge, go into another grade and try their rhythms. You also get to have some fun playing rhythms with some easy homemade instruments.

Check out this website that has some fun games. You can even test yourself on your note names!
This is the website we used in class while learning the recorder: musicplayonline.com/recorder/ There are lots of pieces here that you can review, and then pick some new ones to learn. Follow the tabs at the top of the page to pick different options for the same piece. If you forget some fingerings, on the right hand side click Recorder Warm up and they are there for you to review. You can even compose your own song!
Record yourself playing a piece and send it to arutz@srsd119.ca I would love to hear you play again!

Here is a video that features the Calgary Symphonic Orchestra. When you get to grade 7/8, our Arthur Pechey Band students travel to Calgary and Banff to visit this fine orchestra. Something to look forward to!! Stay tuned next week for the Brass instruments.
Tell me what you think of this video. Email sacorn@srsd119.ca
This weeks challenge is to keep on singing. There are some songs in here that we have done in class and you may recognize. There are some really oldies but goodies too. Your parents might even remember The Elephant Show-it was one of my favourites! Enjoy!
