Mixed Media

The inspiration behind this piece is the light of my life, Quin. I chose this picture in particular because I feel it best captures her gentle nature while still maintaining her elegant physique.

To bring this piece together I used charcoal, black india ink, and graphite, blended with a tortillion. It was difficult to blend different medias on texturized paper but I feel that it ultimately gave the drawing more depth.

If I were to redo this piece I would start from the top to avoid smudges, I would make my lines darker and crisper, I would add more detail to my background, and make the details clearer.
