The main idea that guided my artwork is that I think that borders of territories look cool. All of the jagged edges on this reminded me of a country, so that's what I turned it into.

For this piece, I used a blue pen. I used that blue pen because I think that it feels nice to write with. Specifically, it was a sharpie pen.

For the processes of this piece, I thought at first that it looked like Malaysia. Upon closer inspection of what Malayasia actually looked like, I decided that I didn't want to make Malaysia. So instead I decided to draw Alaska without a reference. I still haven't looked at what Alaska looks like, so I'm not sure if this was accurate or not.
