Artist Bio:
My art experience prior to this course was minimal to none. I never actually took an art class in school, but I would paint and draw for fun at home as a little kid. I would consider myself an artist because over the course of this year I have developed a bunch of skills and techniques. I believe everyone is an artists as long as they are creative and are having fun. Although, art isn't my favorite thing to do for fun. Instead I like to play sports and swim in the pool. My Left brain Right brain test showed that I was half and half meaning I was equally left sided and right sided. Yes, the test aligned with my personality. I am both creative and hardworking and determined at the same time. I have a bunch of different characteristics about me.
Course Takeaways:
My greatest takeaway from this course was learning how to properly use different mediums. I now know how to use watercolor, acrylic paint, and colored pencil where the color pops when I use them. My feelings toward problem solving and art has changed for the better after taking this course. During art I tended to make a lot of mistakes so my problem solving skills were able to improve. If I were to mess up I would take a deep breath and take a couple of minutes to figure out a solution for the mistake. The skill set I learned was called stippling where we used tiny dots to make an image. The stippling piece I drew was the head and neck of an eagle. The textured hand project depicted my best work from the year. I feel like it really captured my shading skills and use of different textures.
