Our task
Our task for our 8th project was to design and build a 3D model of a piece of furniture that our group would like around campus or another school. With the 3D model we had to make a set of blueprints and a list of what everything will cost at the end. All this had to be done on April 17th for our open house because we were presenting it.
To scale
Me and my group originally wanted to make a circular bench for our camps but then we all mutually agreed to do the bench for Pleasant Valley and have it be a half circle with backs. Our whole group decided to make a sketch our own version of the half circle with measurements included. After doing this we were on the same page. I started doing the 3D model. I made the 3D model with cardboard I asking help from the teacher to make sure the measurements were good. One of my group members did the blueprint. He and I worked together because I needed the measurements and he wanted to make sure that the blueprint matched the 3D model perfectly. My last group mate did the list of material with prices including tax. He did this at the end after we gave him the correct amount of materials.
This project really pushed me to think outside the box. I got to know my team better because I had to agree with them on everything from the blueprint to design and where to place our bench. Some things I think I did really well in collaborating with my team even though at first we didn't see eye to eye.Another thing I think I did really well in is communicating my feelings about the project because on open house I wasn't able to come due to other prior arrangements. One thing I feel like I needed to work on is my scheduling because I didn't come to open house. I felt really bad about leaving my teammates alone. This project overall was really fun and engaging
