Frequency - The number of vibrations (wave) per second
Wavelength - Distance of one wave crest to crest (or compression to compression)
Wave Speed - How fast waves travel (velocity)
Amplitude - Distance from mid-point to max point of wave
Transverse wave - Particle motion perpendicular to direction of wave motion
Longitudinal wave - Particle compress and ratify as wave energy moves along
Electromagnetic Spectrum - The range of wavelengths or frequencies
This project lasted roughly about 2-3 weeks. The first days of week 1 was the intro to waves and how sound can be made. The final days of week 1 was when we started building and getting ready to present our projects to 1st graders and 4th graders. Week 2 is when we presented our projects and learned some more about different things connecting to waves . This is when we did "do cellphones cause cancer?" . Week 3 we presented our projects to the class and teachers took later on the week we took a test.
This unit really got me thinking about why some notes play different sounds and how each type of instrument has its own equation on how it works. This unit made me really focus on myself because each of my group mates has a different type of instrument. I had to make sure my part was well done and have faith that my group members took their part seriously too. Some things I think I did really well in is working by myself and getting my part of the project done. I tried my best to help out if needed but overall I felt like I did a good job relying on myself. Something I noticed I need to work on is time management because there were some instances where I didn't use my time wisely and because of that I ended up with more homework than intended. Another thing I notice I need to work on a little more is communication because overall the communication was well in the group but there was somethings that I personally think we could of communicated better on.
