Making sure that the static islands are varied enough to not look identical is important for immersion. It helps by hiding the fact that every asset is copied and pasted. The most challenging element of creating the animations was making them accessible to the player. Using a brake of sorts by adding a second keyframe with the island in the same position let the player jump onto the platform without having to worry about missing and falling. If I had more time, I would have added some fancy splines to make the movements much nicer. Splines would make the movements more interesting than automatic tweens. They can manage movement with much more detail than automated lerps can.
