Most of my creation process could easily go into the "Challenges and Solutions" section, simply because this little Lego rock was oddly hard to make. While making it, I mostly just looked for gray and green, to make a rock with some vines going down it. The black is supposed to be cracks, but I don't know how well I did on that front. I was originally going to make a tree, but I couldn't find enough brown bricks for it. Unfortunately for me, I have a LOT of Lego, but I no longer deconstruct my sets for parts, meaning what I have is what I'll have, which limits me heavily.
While I have a large amount of Lego, I am not really one to make anything freestyle, and I'm not great at building without instruction, but I do think the rock I made looks pretty good, though it could look better. My main challenge was working with what little I had, as my variety of pieces is pretty limited. There really isn't much to say, as these were pretty much all the challenges I had, and my solutions were just to work through it and not try to overachieve and use what had to the best of my ability.
To put this into 3DS Max, I think, wouldn't be too hard, as the general shape is simple. The only thing I might have to worry about is making the cracks and the vines, as I don't really know how to make organic shapes and the cracks can't just be square. As well, texturing would be difficult since I don't see this object as one that can be easily done with sub-object texturing, and I still suck at making UVW textures.
