Overview of subjects offered at VIS
Overview
Grade 11 and 12 student at VIS follow the IB Diploma Programme curriculum. This programme of study, set by the IB Organisation, challenges students to grow as learners and citizens and is widely respected by universities and institutions around the world.
Diploma Years Curriculum
Students at VIS pursue VIS Diploma with an option to additionally pursue the IB Diploma. The IB Diploma is more strict and more challenging, while the VIS Diploma offers greater flexibility of study.
Students pursuing the VIS Diploma have substantial flexibility in subject selection, but must take English and Mathematics courses at any level.
Students pursuing the IB Diploma take 6 subjects, 1 per group to the right, with 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL).

Diploma Years Assessment
Students may earn between 1 and 7 (max) points in every subject.
Students earn credit towards the VIS Diploma by passing a course with a grade of 3 or above. Students need 25 credits in Grades 9-12.
Students pursuing the IB Diploma may thus earn up to 7 points in 6 subjects for a maximum of 42, plus the opportunity for 3 bonus points from work on the DP Core for a possible 45 points. Students earning 24 points and fulfilling other requirements earn an IB Diploma.
