Requirements & Approvals
Approvals
VIS helps to advise students for the Diploma Programme by making course Approvals. Based on current performance up to Grade 10, Approvals advise whether a student should select a course, and at which level.
VIS courses offer these Approval levels:
HL: the student is capable of achieving at least a 4 in that course at HL Diploma level
SL: the student is capable of achieving at least a 4 in that course at SL Diploma level, but is not advised to take the course at HL
HS Approval: the student is unlikely to achieve a 4 in that course at SL Diploma level, and is not advised to take the course for the IB Diploma
Approvals are released to Grade 10 students after the annual Diploma Years Information Evening.
