Current events 2023-24!

Winter clothing drive

Get ready for the LP Winter Clothing Drive! Running from October 16th to 31st, we're collecting new or gently used winter clothing items like coats, scarves, gloves, and hats for adults and especially children. Located conveniently around the school, drop-off bins are ready to receive your donations. This year, our focus is on children's clothing, and all contributions will go to Thorncliffe Park Public School. Don't just donate – spread the word to maximize our impact!

Winter Food drive

Get ready LP it's Winter Food Drive Time! This year we have collaborated with Churches on the Hill food bank and are running from December 7th to the 22nd. We will be collecting Perishable items that can be dropped off in the bins located outside of the office. This year, our goal is to donate 1,000 perishable items, so make sure you are not just donating but spreading the word to maximize our impact!

Some of our past events!

Volunteer Fair

We brought in a variety of volunteer organizations and set up booths for students to visit and learn about volunteer opportunities.

School Clean UP

Over lunch, we went and cleaned up the trash on the LP field. Volunteer hours were given to everyone who participated! We're going to be doing something similar this year, so make sure to stay tuned for updates and announcements on Google Classroom and Instagram.

Letter Writing

YVC partnered with the human rights organization Amnesty International. We wrote letters advocating for the protection of water and land defenders in Guatemala and Honduras. Volunteer hours were given to all participants!
